Update:

I found Hebrew cursive writing.

It is not similar to printing, in my opinion. In some cases, it looks like letters turned on its back. In other cases, it looks like Roman letter script borrowed to represent Hebrew. It was made in 13th Century.

Who controlled scripting in the 13th Century?

When teachers teach this kind of content, you associate words to the letter to help train the letter. And there are always stories to relate the meaning structures and visual to be retained in the child/learner. 

What the interface here is missing is that. The knowledge, despite being on the page, is not easily retainable.
